Health infrastructure and teacher training for improving quality of education in Flores Costa Cuca, Quetzaltenango

The project will strengthen education and school health in 25 rural primary and pre-primary schools in Flores Costa Cuca, Quetzaltenango, benefiting 7,723 students directly and contributing to the attainment of SDG 4 (specifically its target 4.1). During execution, on one hand, improvements will be made in sanitation facilities in pre-primary schools in accordance to national standards and Wash guidelines. On the other hand, it will be carried out: provision of supplies to promote school health; teacher training in hygiene and health practices; participatory update of schools’ Institutional Educational Project (PEI, Proyecto educativo institucional); training for parents on hygiene and health; hands-on training for students, and support in strengthening the Génova Costa Cuca technical committee, consolidating its structure and supporting its teacher-training activities.
