SDG 5: GENDER EQUALITY

Employment

Bolivia

175 Aymara women from the 5 neighboring markas in the municipality of Comanche have been empowered to fully exercise their social, economic, and political rights

The project aims to empower 175 Aymara women to fully exercise their social, economic, and political rights, on one hand, by helping them develop the skills needed to have a political impact at local and social levels as well as in the family; and, on the other hand, strengthening their economic autonomy, so they can manage their resources in order to make decisions that reduce their vulnerability and strengthen their self-confidence. They will have the opportunity to contribute to their society by practicing lawmaking, fighting organically gender-based violence, negotiating domestic co-responsibility with their spouses, and implementing better eating habits in their families. At the same time, they will achieve greater technical abilities for sustainable and environment-friendly management of their small economic entrepreneurships (livestock, production of handcrafted garments) in order to increase their income.
