The Foundation has successfully held the meeting of university professors within the framework of the project “University Students for Education for Development: Young People from Castilla y León Committed with the Global South”. This initiative, which seeks to promote Education for Development and Global Citizenship at the university level, has gathered professors from the University of Salamanca (Universidad de Salamanca, USAL), the University of León (Universidad de León, ULE), the University of Burgos (Universidad de Burgos, UBU), and the University of Valladolid (Universidad de Valladolid, UVa) to share experiences, strategies, and groundbreaking methodologies.
The meeting’s goal was to strengthen collaboration between university faculty and the cooperation areas of the various Universities, encouraging the integration of Education for Development into training programs and academic activities. In addition, a representative of COODECYL gave a talk on the work of the Coordinating Committee, available scholarships, and ongoing projects, providing valuable information for attendees.
This event is part of a series of activities planned in the project, which to date has managed to involve several students and teachers from different disciplines.
Since the project started, it has driven various student initiatives with a global citizenship approach. The active participation of young people and their commitment to social transformation have been key to the program’s success.
The next step in this initiative will be the celebration of the 2nd edition of the “Challenge #BeTheChange of Castilla y León” contest, which will encourage students to design and implement projects with social impact in their respective university campuses.
