From March to July 2016, FABRE had an international volunteer in Guatemala. Our local partner FUNDAP hosted Celia Pinedo Pardo at its headquarters in Quetzaltenango. Celia carried out research on the ground in different communities in the rural area of South West Guatemala, gave training on Human Rights and Climate Change to entrepreneurs, indigenous families, teachers and students from rural schools; and drafted two guidebooks on the defense and protection of human rights.
On the occasion of World Day of the Cooperant, on 8 September, the Valladolid City Council organized the exhibition “A grain of sand is a world”, in the Monastery of San Benito. FABRE participated with a picture of Celia in the
department of Totonicapán, together with the girls from the FUNDAP project “Scholarships for Girls”
