The project aims to consolidate the Human Right to drinking water in a universal, equitable, and sustainable manner among the population of the rural indigenous community of Madrecita, thus improving their health in particular and their quality of life in general. The project’s goals are, on the one hand, to supply drinking water to every household in the community in accordance with the standards of quantity, quality, accessibility, and price laid down by the WHO and United Nations; on the other hand, to strengthen the capacities of duty-bearers, bearers of responsibility, and rights holders in order to achieve a proper management of the water system, where democratic governance and gender equality are determining factors.

El objetivo del proyecto es consolidar el Derecho Humano al agua potable, de manera universal, equitativa y sostenible, entre la población de la comunidad rural indígena de Madrecita, mejorando con ello su salud en particular y su calidad de vida en general. El proyecto se marca como metas por un lado, el suministro de agua potable a todos los hogares de la comunidad, de acuerdo a los estándares de cantidad, calidad, accesibilidad y precio establecidos por la OMS y Naciones Unidas; por otro lado, fortalecer las capacidades de los titulares de obligaciones, responsabilidades y derechos, para conseguir una adecuada gestión del sistema de agua donde la gobernabilidad democrática y la igualdad de género sean determinantes.
