TARGET: Prevention and treatment of malnutrition at the communities of Tacana, Sibinal and San José Ojetenam.
MAIN ACTIVITIES: We attended 158 mothers in gestation period and highly vulnerable; we also trained and guided families for the modification of habits of hygiene and food.
We provided care for 262 children under five years.
We created a net of 169 volunteers trained as promoters of rural health, whose main function is providing timely services to save lives. The volunteer health promoters provide counseling, training, primary health care and timely reference in their communities and surrounding communities.
IMPACT: We trained and attended mothers in gestation period for the modification of habits of hygiene and food, which are basic conditions for breaking the vicious circle of malnutrition. 59% of the 262 children under five years attended improved its indicators of weight, and 72% improved its indicators of size.

OBJETIVO: Atención y prevención de la desnutrición en los municipios de Tacana, Sibinal y San José Ojetenam.
ACTIVIDADES PRINCIPALES: La atención 158 madres en período de gestación y altamente vulnerables, que comprende formación y acompañamiento a ellas y sus familias para la modificación de sus hábitos de higiene y alimentación.
Atención de 262 niños menores de cinco años.
Formación de 169 voluntarios (as) como promotores de salud rural, cuya función principal es la de prestar servicios de consejería, capacitación, atención primaria en salud en sus comunidades y comunidades circunvecinas.
IMPACTO: Formación y acompañamiento de madres gestantes condiciones básicas para romper el círculo vicioso de la desnutrición o malnutrición. De los 262 niños menores de cinco años atendidos un 59% mejoraron sus indicadores de peso y un 72% sus indicadores de talla.
